Can you think of a time when you expressed care for a loved one by bringing them a hot meal? When has sharing a meal with a friend made you feel loved?
At Coal Creek Meals on Wheels, we are fortunate to witness food as an expression of love every day. This February, we're celebrating this beautiful connection all month long.

Food has a unique ability to bring people together and create bonds that nourish both body and soul. The simple act of sharing a meal can convey care, kindness, and love in ways words often cannot. It’s a gesture that transcends cultural and social boundaries, reminding us that love can be found in every bite we share.
One of our neighbors shared a story about receiving a meal from a coworker after their house in Eldorado Springs burned down, remembering a fish stew in particular. The dish itself wasn’t what made the experience special, “I felt cared for.”
One regular at the Coal Creek Café shared how fortunate they feel, “to enjoy eating with friends and new people,” and others shared some emotions that come up around shared meals: “joyful,” “blessed,” “love,” “happiness,” and “appreciation.”
Throughout this month, we will continue to share our neighbors' reflections around food and love. We invite you to join us in celebrating these heartwarming stories that highlight how food can be a powerful tool for showing compassion and building connections.
Consider honoring your Valentine this year with a donation to Coal Creek Meals on Wheels in your loved one's name. Your generous gift will help us continue to provide nutritious meals and vital human connections to our neighbors.

We also want to hear from you! Send us your own stories of food sharing as an act of love. Whether it’s a cherished memory of bringing a homemade meal to a friend in need or a special moment shared over dinner with a loved one, we’d love to share your stories with our community.
Send a photo of you and your Valentine to lcollins@coalcreekmow.org, and tell us what "Food is Love" means to you and why you support CCMOW.
Together, let's celebrate the love that food can bring to our lives and the lives of those around us.
Happy February from Coal Creek Meals on Wheels!
