Julie was born and raised in Tucson, Arizona, graduating from the University of Arizona with a BA in Journalism. Julie met her husband, Tim, in her (first) senior year of college, shortly after Tim had begun his career in Tucson, with IBM. They married in 1984 and relocated with IBM to the Boulder area in 1985, which was a “coming home” for Tim, who was born and raised in Westminster. Julie never looked back! Julie and Tim have two children, Emma and Danny. Before Emma and Danny started school, Julie and the children delivered MOW when the organization was based out of First United Methodist Church of Lafayette on Baseline, now the home of the Center for Musical Arts. When Julie retired from a 27-year-career with the Boulder Valley School District in June, 2022, she made volunteering a priority in her life once again. She began as a Friday morning bagger in August of 2022, adding giving meals out at the Lafayette Library in September of 2023, when that service was piloted. Julie is impressed with the growth of CCMOW, from the mid-90’s to today, and is passionate about the service and presence of community CCMOW provides to our East Boulder County neighbors. In her spare time, Julie enjoys traveling, reading, walking with her dog Oakley, cooking, entertaining and exploring the backyard we call Colorado. Julie was honored to be asked to join the Board in January of 2025.
